I guess I'm in the minority on this BBS...I don't yet have any Gaui helis, but I've been flying R/C since 2006 or thereabouts. One of my most recent acquisitions is a Syma S031G "cat slicer" heli (a 400-size electric coax); I'm just waiting for decent weather here so I can take it to the baseball park in my electric wheelchair and fly that puppy. It's my largest heli (all of my others could be classified as "micros"), so I really want to take it to a decent-sized flying arena that will allow me to shoot some decent video of it for my website.

Welcome LED. I too have been waiting for some decent weather to fly. After the long cold winter here, it has been raining every day for the past month.

Hello fellow freaks, erm, pilots. Just wandered over here to check things out. I've been a "pilot" for over 3 years and have gotten pretty good at it. I cant fly inverted and my nose in is still questionable, but otherwise I'm confident in my flying. My first bird was a disaster. It was a walkera dragonfly #37. Brushed motor, NIMH flight pack, dead servo on arrival and all 3 cyclic servos died within 3 weeks. Despite those mysterious PIT and PLT knobs on the TX, I got that thing to hover steady. Now I fly a blade 400, a gaui 550 and my gaui 200 is waiting on a few tail parts to complete the transformation to a v2 tail. I'm really into night flying and have almost finished my first set of custom night blades for the B400. Its quite the frankencopter with very few stock parts left. Attachments:

Welcome Kavic, thanks for joining us. You missed out on our 425 kit giveaway by 1 day.
I know you had some interest in the HeadHunter frames based on some of your posts over at HeliFreak. Hopefully Scott will continue to keep us updated here on his progress with the HH frame kits. For reasons I can't explain, I don't believe there will be too much more discussion about the HH frame upgrades over on HF.

Living just outside the DC beltway I get enough politics/drama in my daily life. Just like a fungal infection it invades moist dark corners of everyday life. It sucks to encounter it on HF. Does anyone really expect me to plonk down $200 on a flimsy 2mm carbon fiber frame for my 550? The blade 400 frame upgrade has 2mm CF or in my case GF. HH frames are a badly needed upgrade IMHO. And if they were only mentioned in the for sale section of HF I might never notice. While I'm on the subject, I was looking at the gaui 550 carbon fiber frame on hobbyking.com just out of curiosity. While the page was up the usual discount window opened and offered it for $124. Do I really want to trust hundreds of dollars worth of electronics to a discount CF frame? No offense to HK, they are good for LED strings and have yet to ship me a bad nano-tech pack, but frame upgrades from them, or servos for that matter? No thanks. Attachments:

Welcome aboard Kavic!
HeadHunter frames... I'm waiting on metal. My machinist is working on it and should have more than what he's sent shortly.
I closed the thread on Helifreak because according to the rules on Helifreak it was inappropriate advertising. I didn't want to offend anyone there or abuse the privilege of posting there. I love Helifreak and really don't want jeopardize my membership status there. Any announcements (which will be soon) regarding HeadHunter Helicopters will be made here (and I even feel badly about that).
So... welcome, Kavic!! I hope you enjoy our site!
