Thanks for the tip on the Outrage manual. It's gone together very nicely so far it's just the lack of guidance which is frustrating me. And you know what it's like when you're building helis - nothing more frustrating than finishing your pride and joy and realising something is not installed correctly and you have to strip it all down ;D Straight up, I think the Gaui manuals could use some work. Apart from the issues you mention, there's the lack of Head Programming information. Of course, you can glean what you need from an Outrage manual, but that shouldn't be the case. This even affects the X5. In fact, I wrote the US Distributor about head programming being absent and to date I've seen no change even though it was supposedly going to be turned over to team members. Scott

We've all built plastic framed Hurricane's here, so if there's anything you need, we'll be more than happy to help. If we don't know the answer, we'll admit it and do our best to find it for you. I've had to tear down helicopters so I know exactly what you mean!

I do think maybe they are slowly working on it. You should see the original manual that I got with my early version Gaui 200. It is 7 pages. One page with an exploded view of the head, one page with an exploded view of the tail, and one page showing the assembled helicopter. The other 4 pages list all of the replacement parts. I downloaded a newer version of the manual from Gaui's site, and it is much more detailed and far better than the old one. The 550 is basically the same as the 425 only with longer boom, belt, and blades. I think the 550 manual is better than the 425 manual. You can download it from the top of this page; www.gaui.com.tw/html-en/products/425_550_parts.htm

Cheers. I'll stick any further queries on the build (and there will be some in the 425 forum as I guess I'm getting a bit off topic in the Welcome Wagon.

You're more than welcome, Vas! Spread the word if you don't mind. It's great to have you here, bro! Since neither Jerry or I have an X5 or 330x... anything you can provide is very welcome. You've got a HeadHunter too, right? Scott

I'll let all know to look in here for Gaui stuff Re headhunters, actually had 2 mate. A complete airframe i purchased of good friend Rodjam and a kit i ordered from Ben just before christmas along with another bigballs set for the 12S. Had a friend that loved the HH airframe so much that i had no choice but hand it over to him. I felt terrible not having finished it and so wanted to see it flying. Hopefully he'll have it done soon. The kit i'm doing as soon as these others are out of the way. Time has been a bit hard these days with the little one not being so little anymore and work being nuts . Hopefully everything will settle soon. Have a 4020-910,100 amp X5(hobbywing) esc,TT and receiver waiting for it. Also a FBL head. Just need some servos. Huge thumbs up for taking the HH line on mate.Is awesome to be able to get support for these and from what i've seen, they work!!! Well too Vas

Cool, Vas!
Let me know how the torque tube works out for the HH. I'm seriously considering modifying the design to include lower holes drilled for the TT as well as the standard belt tail drive.

Hey Vas, feel free to add any info to any of the boards that you want. I don't think any of our other members have the X5 yet as you can see by the lack of activity in that board, so any info there would be helpful.
I would really like to get an X5 someday, but my flying skills aren't good enough for that yet. Plus, I personally think they are priced too high, but that might come down if they don't sell a lot of them.

Cool, Vas! Let me know how the torque tube works out for the HH. I'm seriously considering modifying the design to include lower holes drilled for the TT as well as the standard belt tail drive. Scott Scott, personally i think 100% that the lower holes should be added mate. Gives variety if people wish to go that way. Also off the shelf X5 TT assemblies will go straight on for 500's and if people wanted 550's, they have the option of making there own. Seriously not hard, just a bit of fiddling. Jerry, my flying aint worthy of the X5 at all but it just flies so damn well. So nicely that my 12s Hurri hasn't seen air for nearly a month will this week hopefully. I used to sadly say if Gaui's were more expensive, more people would want them. Alot thought the hurri wasn't a good heli coz it was cheap.Unless they actually saw a sorted one flying that is. If one looks around, there are some really good priced deals going. The X5 is hard to explain. Really is a very different heli and i'd say it is THE heli in the class. Aplogises for being a bit slow on the posts. Have managed to work 40 of the last 48

Hey guys Ive been looking for a Gaui specific forum to get the most out of my incoming gaui 425 & this looks like the place. I dont have lots of experience flying but have built several helis like Mikados, T-rex's and soon a Gaui stretched to 500 size.
