Wow... great flying and great control... I do have a question... in the first video, after your warnings started, what switches were being flipped? I keep hearing this on other videos and I'm just wondering. Dual rates?
In any case, great, great flying! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Scott! Thanks for the reply. Those clicking sounds must have been something that the camera person was clicking on the camera to either zoom in or out at that point in the video (it was only her third time using this video camera and she was scared just standing there). The only switches flipped on my tx during these flights were my usual 3 flicks back and forth of the rate/hh switch (out of habit), and then during take off/landing, going into and out of the normal, s1, s2 modes. Most of the time, i will just take off and land in s2, ..or kill power on the way in for an auto. No dual rates or any other fancy switch throwin' during a flight for me bro. I like simple with no crashola. :-) I'll try to get some more vid clips when a camera person is available again. Steve

Great flying Steve, as always. Someday I am gonna get a camera to shoot some "granny' flying vids for you guys. Been in the hobby 2 years now, and not even up to "1D" flying yet.

Steve,
Thanks for clearing that up. I keep hearing what sounds like switches in videos and never took the time to ask what was going on until yesterday. Man, you can fly. I like your inverted passes when you pull up and piro. Very cool looking stuff, Steve!
Thanks again for sharing!

Testing out the video sunglasses. They work ok, but it does make it hard to think about flying the heli 100% of the time if you aren't used to moving your head while you fly. I'm going try em out again tomorrow and i'll do my best to skip the earthquake shaking stuff before and after the flight lol.. Steve

Great flying as always Steve. Are those the eBay video sunglasses that Jim mentioned over on Freak? Did you have any trouble downloading the vid to your computer? The video quality looks pretty decent for a cheap pair of "spy" glasses, lol.
I haven't tried to record any flight videos of any kind yet. I was going to get a small hat cam, but, I suffered a very severe neck injury in an accident many years ago and can barely turn my head in either direction, so, I generally just move my eyes to follow the heli, and that would make it hard for me to try to shoot a vid.

Wow.. sorry to hear about the neck injury bro. Yes, they are the same glasses that Jim mentioned over on the freak. I guess i never realized how still i normally stand when i fly until i tried these glasses out lol. You don't need to move too much to follow the heli, but like you say.. more than just moving your eyes (which i also normally did). The lenses are also polarized and pretty dark tinted.. and make things look a little too dark on an average daylight session. The bottom line is that it is a way to shoot some low quality video instead of having nothing at all. For the money, they were worth it, but if you are looking for or are expecting $500+ video camera quality video footage .. they won't do the job. They come with a software cd that will allow you to adjust the on screen date etc, but the cd didn't work in my laptop, so the date display is all nutz'd up heheh. They are fun, but hard to see when they are recording due to the light display system that signals when they are just on, in picture mode, or are recording. For $30 shipped, with the memory card... not too darn bad man. It did take about 10 minutes to download the video file from the glasses to the laptop, but i'm in no rush so that is no big deal. *seemed to play much better via real player than media player... not sure why. Hope all of you heli friends out there are having a great weekend so far!
Steve

Great and I mean OUTSTANDING flying, Steve!!!! It's great seeing everything you're doing. It's something to strive for. Thank you for sharing!
Jerry..
I didn't know you had a bad neck injury. That surely casts thing in a different light with the camera. I'm so sorry, my friend.
