Great flying, believe me, you wouldn't want to see any flying videos from me. You would fall asleep watching them.

Hey, we are all learning just at different rates and there is nothing wrong with that. This is the only recent video clip i have and it was taken on an overcast day and is almost a month old now. It's not a great flight by any means, i was just working on inverted punch outs nose first, instead of my usual tail first ones.. but most important - just having fun! Still have a lot to practice but the SIM time is really starting paying off in the last 3 weeks thanks to some email feedback (and a great local pilot/mentor). The biggest suggestion/help was to cut out the old stick banging all over the place flight style and head back to the basics by concentrating only on smooth controlled flights and transitions instead, and things are starting to finally come together. Making great progress once again and i'm glad i have this video clip to look back on to gauge my progress. It's amazing how some good advise and sim time can remove a block and get you moving forward again!

Steve, I saw this when you posted it on HF and I'm still quite impressed. Really nice job. I don't hope to be able to get anywhere close to what you are already doing. Having enough trouble just doing figure 8's. Good work.....thanks for posting!

That's some great flying, Steve. Thanks for posting it here! I'm very impressed with everything you did, especially your inverted slides! One day, I'll get there, too!

Nice flying Steve. I am impressed with how smooth your transitions were. It seems you had each move well planned in your mind before putting it to the sticks.

Thanks guys. The transitions are much smoother now and i've realized how much more difficult it is to fly it smoothly. For example, on 100% power, stick banging is much easier, and it covered up a lot of my weak areas. This new training method of low level inverted flight and tumbling at 75% power and tail first flights has really helped my learning curve a lot. I wish i would have started training this way sooner. Will post more vids when i can.

Cool. I'm always looking for new methods to improve. I'll have to do some research on your method.
Thanks!

Here's a video I shot this weekend... I joined a club... The near crash was due to a slipped phasing ring which caused binding of the pitch links to the washout arm bolt. BIGTIME pucker!

That looked scary . At first I thought you were going into a back-flip, then looked like it was coming straight down, tail first. Glad to see you got it back under control in time. Hard to see with the trees behind, but looked like it was gettin real close to the ground. That field looks pretty big judging by how far out you were flying.

I was trying to back flip... the thing wouldn't go inverted due to the binding. It was almost in the tall grass during the pucker moment. Oh, well... it's fixed, now. I also put 1 degree more of everything in it today. Scott

Glad you got it fixed, so tomorrow I can see a vid of the nice back-flips, huh. That is something I haven't even tried with my 550 as I don't think I run enough head speed on it for good flips. I am gonna increase the head speed someday when I get time, but, too many irons in the fire right now.

Two clips of flights with the 4020-910 motor and 24t pinion. Stationary cam, but you get to see the heli a little bit... sometimes lol.

Looks and sounds awesome. What main gear are you running?
No need for a new X5 when your old Hurri flys like that.
Great flying , BTW.

The front gear is 61t, 24t pinion, 20owb and 61t rear gear. I'd like to upgrade both hurris to the x5 frames (and planned to, but not for over $1,200 do upgrade them lol). It seems Gaui didn't want to provide that bare bone frame upgrade option out of the gate during the initial release. It's okay though.. i can continue to practice with what i have and i'm thankful to have that. Got some great flight time in today and the routine is coming together a bit more.
