Hey I got the basic kit for 79 and used the plastic canopy. The way I put it together was:
clean with rubbing alcohol
tape it with scotch tape from the inside to get it lined up exactly right
spread canopy glue under the seam and wipe off excess.
let dry and fill in any voids in the glue with more canopy glue. It is a very strong bond , I crashed fairly hard and the canopy glue held fine even though the canopy ripped some and bent the holders.
I will post pics tomorrow.

Yeah, I glued mine together with some cheap super-glue from the dollar store and it held great. I did however buy a stock Gaui FG canopy for the 425, but I don't think I will use it till the plastic one gets crashed.

Well, I'm using a Trex 500 canopy. I bought an unpainted one and spray painted it myself. It was $18 at my LHS. I threw the stock canopy in the garbage after a few rushed slips of the x-acto. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to need to do the tray mod with a 6S battery hanging below. I just ordered a 6S 2600 from Helidirect. By the way, they have the cheapest Hyperion batteries I could find. I paid $108 for a 35/65 C 2600. Everywhere else was around $123.
Can't wait to see the pics 'guy!

I have to admit, I only used the lower side of my plastic frame a couple of times before I got a tray mod. You'll like the Hyperion's. I use that very battery on my T-Rex 500. Lot's of power! If Helidirect runs out, you might want to try ExperienceRC... they've got them at the same price you paid. Scott

Scott There is already almost 2 cells worth of clearance at the bottom with the two 3S batteries installed (one on top, one on the bottom). So I'm thinking, and hoping, that by removing the battery from the top, that will give me the clearance I need at the bottom. Also, my motor isn't getting the airflow to the fan like I want. Hopefully this will help here as well, since I'll be changing the angle of the opening up top.
