Hey Fred, thanks for the info. I am sure it would work fine with my DX7 then. I have been looking forward to getting it someday as I have a Hurri 550 and I noticed Bill and Scott were discussing the 550 on one of the forums. I think Phoenix just added the Hurri 550 not too long ago. LMAO at Bill. I can't fly too good yet either, but at least on the Clearview sim I look like I can fly, although, even on it I am still having trouble learning to fly backwards circuits.

yea jerry,they just got the 550 on phoenix about two weeks ago. its like about every week there is some thing else to down load from phoenix, planes, hellis, flying sites. theres alot of choices on phoenix. I try to fly 2 hrs a day, or untill i get frusrtaited l.o.l

I've been able to put about an hour/day on Phoenix. It's fun, but lately I'm concentrating on the things I need to learn instead of just zipping around. I've found on smaller helicopters it's a lot harder to do things smoothly, so I'm flying a T-Rex 450 pro model setup exactly like my actual helicopter. After about a half hour of nose in attempts, it's time for other things. I've found nose-in, inverted is pretty easy. I will try that before the winter is out, indoors, I think.

If you don't learn it now you will have to later. There are many maneuvers you will not be able to do unless you learn nose in, left side, right side then same inverted . Skip it now pay later. Don't forget slow pirouettes, it will improve your flying with everything you try

The last 2 times I went out, I started practicing some slow pirouettes. It is much harder to keep the helicopter nice and stable compared to fast piros. Not sure if it is any easier with FBL as all of my helicopters are flybarred.

It is a bit easier, provided the electronics are setup properly, in that there are very few (if any) corrections required during the maneuver. Because of that, during the FB to FBL acclimation period, I noticed I was automatically applying corrections and wondered why things like slow piros were ugly. I finally figured to keep my fingers off the right stick!

I think converting to FBL would be very hard for me, I dunno. I am just so used to making certain corrections that I do it naturally, without even thinking about it. Like taking off. I don't even think about adding a little right cyclic to cancel drift, it just happens, which I am told you shouldn't do with FBL as it might cause a tip-over. Slow piros are probably somewhat similar to that from what Scott is saying. Slow piros were pretty hard at first, trying to figure out exactly what inputs to make to keep the heli nice and stable, but, after a while the thumbs just seem to do it on their own. If I converted to FBL I would probably be adding too many unneeded inputs and crash more than I do now. Jerry
