Even though I have been in this hobby for just over 5 years, I finally got my first micro helicopters today. I had been wanting to pick up a McPX for a couple years, but just never did. My wife got me a Nano CP X (BNF) and my mother, who is 81 years old, bless her heart, bought me a little Nano QX (BNF) for Christmas. Between the 2 of them they also bought 10 extra batteries for them, lol. I got a few minutes while helping my wife cook dinner to bind the QX to my DX7. After dinner I took it up and flew it around the dining room for a few minutes in circles behind everyone. That little thing was a lot of fun to fly around indoors. Not sure if it helps to break 'brushed' motors in slowly or not, so I just set my timer on 3 minutes then landed. I let it sit for about 15 min then took it up for another flight. I put 6 flights on it in all. Haven't recharged the batteries yet to see how much I put back in them. It really is stable when flown in 'stability mode', although it can still get up some scarey speed in a small room. It slows down pretty quickly when you let go of the sticks, to help avoid crashes. Not sure how long the tiny motors will last, but I will let everyone know how it holds up long term. I did get a chance late tonight to program the Nano CP X settings in the DX7 and bind it, but only got one very short 30sec hover flight on it before I got interrupted. I seemed pretty twitchy for flying in a small room, but won't know for sure till I get more time to try it out.

Sounds like you family listened to your requests Jerry. I had nothing helicopter related but have been flying the MCX, MSR micro's indoors for a couple of years. The Nano CP-x is a swift little beast just like its bigger brother the MCP-x and I only fly mine in big indoor spaces or outside as unless you are a 3D God with the reactions of a Ninger they do need a large area to fly in. Great fun though and pretty tough and they do fly outside very well in quite high wind conditions.
Have fun and best wishes for the New Year

I think I would have to agree with you on flying the CPx indoors. I tried it out in the house but could only hover and fly some very slow circles around the room. It seemed too quick to try and fly it in a small room. Today it was a little warmer out (40F) so I took it out in my back yard to test it out. I was much more comfortable flying it out in the yard than in the house. It is pretty quick for such a tiny helicopter. Lots of fun outdoors though. Best wishes to you in 2014. Jerry
