I recently converted my Flybar T-Rex 450 pro to FBL using the BeastX Microbeast controller. I also used the KDE FBL upgrade kit. Here's a picture... Attachments:

Looks nice and smooth, and sounds great. Glad to see that you are able to get out and fly again since your shoulder surgery.

Thanks, Jerry. It's about the only one I can carry with my right arm, but it'll get better. It better. Scott

I put it in yesterday... same thing I did with my 500 at Dayton. Less damage though... boom, main shaft, feathering shaft, grip, stripped servo, blades.

Dang, sorry to hear that Scott. I guess the "less frustrating" part of it is that the repair parts for the 450 are less expensive than your larger birds, even though this doesn't make ya feel any better.
One thing is for sure. Since you went FBL on your helis you have been flying them a lot harder, which, sharpens your flying skills, but, also sometimes comes with a price.
I suppose with the flying season winding down "in our neck of the woods", you may not be in a big hurry to get it back in the air soon, but, good luck with the rebuild.

Rebuild's done... I'm in a hurry. All I need to do is set zero pitch and I'm off again. The only frustrating thing for me now is waiting for parts. The weather is just too good to not fly. I just need to stop doing the body English stuff. Scott

Hmmm, guess you didn't need to wait for any parts then huh, lol. Good to hear you got it back together so soon. Great weather here too this weekend.

Superb weather here. Unfortunately, I lost yesterday and Saturday. Friday because I was dead tired and Saturday because I'm helping a friend build his T-Rex 550. It's his first build and he's doing great. Nothing lost in helping someone get their feet wet, he's a good guy and I'm enjoying it.
Sunday? Flying. I'm staying up late tonight to watch F1 live and I'll get my batteries ready to go, too. So, it's all good.
I hope you get some sticktime, too!

I put the 450 in again, yesterday. Having fun. Only blades and main gear. I had two RCScrewz fail yesterday causing my antirotation bracket to come out. One screw broke. Never again will I use RCScrewz. Scott

Damn, sorry to hear that. Glad the damage wasn't too bad.
What screws are included with the HH frames, RTLfasteners? I haven't had any problems with the screws on the HeadHunter.
I did have a tail blade/grip fly off of my 425 once while spooling up. It hit me in the chest and knocked the wind outta me. The stock Gaui tail grip bolt sheared off flush with the hub.

RTL's are included with the frames, bro. Don't worry. I bought the best i could afford for the framesets.
I friggin' hate RCScrewz now, though. I used to swear by them. No more. No way. No how. ANYMORE. I've just broken too many and have helicopters down because of it. Funny thing is, they break when you're tightening them because they don't feel tight. Next thing you know... SNAP... flush with the metal surface. It has caused me to buy new parts! NEVER AGAIN.
I'm trying out QuickUK screws for repair spares. I have them for my tail drive block on my 500 and I've ordered some for the same part on my 450pro. So far, so good.
