Well guys, although the site is still pretty new, we are trying our best to make it interesting for all our members.. At this time I am trying to add a chat room to the site. I realize that our membership will take time to grow, and at this time there are rarely enough members logged in at one time to make a chat room feasible. However, since it may take some time to get it sorted out, I figured that now was a good time to get started on it.
There should be a "chat" icon on your menu at the top, but , at the moment I am not too sure if it is working properly, or, how you will know if members are currently using it.
To be honest, I am still doing some research on it, and not sure yet if a member can initiate a chat, or, if it has to be started by a staff member. Hopefully, together, we can work it out.
Thanks, Jerry..

i will do what i can to help. any time. It is great to have guys like you help out with getting a site started. When I first started the site I asked Scott for his help, and he has been great with his knowledge of the internet and building websites. Bill and Ivan have stuck with us on a daily basis, while we have been trying to attract new members by submitting our site URL to all the search engines, and Scott adding all the meta tags to the site for the search crawlers to pick up. Hopefully, someday we will have lots of guys helping each other out on here, but, it will take time, this I know. Thanks again Jerry

jerry this site is only focused on gaui mostly. it took HTF a year to get were it is today 207 members. and the reason behind it is, so many members were discussed with the way other forums to big, or the aditudes of some of the members. IMO.

We'll get there. Man, thanks for the help on the chat room... I have to say I really don't use chat rooms, but I see the need for them.

I am not sure if anybody uses the chat room or not, but I am guessing not because I just realized that it is "broken" and nobody mentioned it. I added it a long time ago as I thought it might be nice for guys to be able to 'shoot the $hit' while they are on the site at the same time instead of posting messages back and forth. I kinda thought is was a nice feature that many other RC sites don't offer, but since we are a small site not many guys are on at the same time. Anyhow, it took me about 2 hours to figure out how to 'fix' it and it should be up and running again. Hopefully in the future we can try to schedule a 'once a month chat' that will gain some interest and might be kinda fun too, I dunno. Keep in mind that you can start a 'chat' anytime while you are on the site, but it opens in the current window, so, to continue to view the forums at the same time you need to open a new tab in your browser and go back to the forums in that tab. The "float and dock" feature of the chat is kinda useless as it pulls the page down but if you click back to the home page the chat closes. Thanks to all for your support of GHT. Jerry

I generally try to remember to enter the chat lobby when I log in to check the posts or work on the site, so, if anybody stops by and sees that I am on, feel free to pop in and say hello.

Just a heads up about the chat feature. I am not sure if anyone uses it but the original feature placed on here by proboards never seemed to work right. It was opened by clicking a "button" at the top of the page.
I have removed the original chat room and replaced it. If interested, the link to the chat room is now just above the news fader on the main page, on the far left side. No "button", just the words "Chat Room". Clicking it will open the chat room in a new window.
