Hi, my name is cassie, and I'm new on here.My husband flys big stuff, and he is currently teaching me on an E-Flite Blade MCX2. It is very challenging, but I am getting the hang of it!! Please throw my name in the hat for the 425,as I would imagine I will be ready for it pretty soon!!

Welcome Jeff, and Cassie. Good luck to you in the drawing.
To Cassie, it takes a lot of practice to learn to fly RC helicopters as your husband can probably tell you, but, it will all come together some day. Good luck with your adventure into RC helicopters.

Thank you Jerry and Scott! Yes,it takes a lot of patience(and practice) to learn to fly these. But with my husbands help(and patience)and a few funds to buy spare parts,I am confident that I will learn to control these like I control my husband,LOL!!! I've always told my husband that I need a hobby, and I'm not into quilts,or needlepoint! These guys(heli's)fit me just perfect. I am into side control hovering, and I don't think it will be long to nose in! I'm sure you know that there is no feeling than controlling something with your fingers, to make it do exactly what you want it to do!! The ultimate feeling IMO

Cassie, my advice would be not to beat yourself up trying to learn stationary nose-in hovering. Once you have tail-in and side-in hovering down, just try flying some nice slow controlled circles. You will quickly find out that as the helicopter comes around nose in toward you and moving, your brain will naturally move the sticks in the right direction to keep the circle going smoothly.
After flying slow controlled CW and CCW circles, nose in will come naturally, without thinking about the sticks "seemingly" being backward.

Yes, my husband has taught me to move the sticks "in the direction" that the heli is moving in nose in to keep it steady. It is becoming more "natural" to me now,I think you guys call it "muscle memory?" It's starting to "click", and I think it's wonderful.

Yep, sometimes your brain will "out-smart" you. It can do things without you having to think about them. The more you practice flying, the more you will realize that it will become completely natural. You won't even have to think about moving the sticks as it will be like your brain moving your legs to walk. It will just happen. Jerry

At my age though my brain moves the sticks about twenty seconds after they should have been moved....................... Tim

Ha ! I am a half century old myself and my reflexes are just as quick as they were 20 years ago. In my line of work, you better be quick, or you might be dead, so, i must be quick since I am still here. Age has no bearing on your flying skills.
