Hi Gentlemen, could some kind soul help me out with a flybar paddle question? I’m putting together my first 425 basic kit and have just come to fit the paddles to find they push straight over the threaded ends of the flybar, and there is nowhere to fit the M3 set screw to them. The part number of the paddles in my build manual gives 204756. Do I appear to have the wrong paddles or wrong flybar? There’s no part number on the paddles themselves. If it helps at all, the paddles are solid, (different to the ones I have in a 550 kit), and measure about 76mm x 39mm (3” x 1.5”). The 550 ones I’ve just measured at 3.25 x 1.75 inches (85 x 46mm). I think these are the ones I'm trying to fit www.buzzflyer.co.uk/GAUI-Hurricane-425-Spares/Hurricane-425-Paddle-Set---204756/p-151-1680/Thanks for looking Tim.

Tim, I am going to take a guess that there is a flaw in the paddles. I say this because I have heard several other people also mention the same problem as you are having with the newer 425 kits.
My 425 was one of the original IRCHA kits that Scott picked up for me a couple years ago. If I remember right, the paddles on it were threaded to screw onto the flybar, but again, I have heard others say they had problems with the newer kits.
Mine had a slightly larger hole for the first few mm then was smaller the rest of the way in.

OK, just measured the flybar with my top quality Chinese digital callipers and its 3mm (well 2.9ish), Google conversion tells me that’s 0.115 inches!

That's the right width... If the flybar pushes all the way into the paddles, you need to get new paddles. As maddening as it is, sometimes things like that happen with parts. On a differenent helicopter, I had a few bolts that looked fine until I went to put a hex driver into them... no way. There were no hex ends.. in fact, the heads were perfectly flat.
