Just purchased a EP200 from HK. Are Gaui parts compatible?

Well, I didn't vote in your poll because I can't give a definite yes or no answer, but, I browsed through some of the Firefox parts on HK and many of them look very similar to my Gaui EP200 parts.

Maybe. I use/used some ff part in my Gaui and had a ff200 with some gaui parts in it. There are several revisions of the Gaui and the firefox, which part you want to interchange?
Cory
Voting no to blanket interchangeable.

Head: Most all parts will interchange. New Gaui blades are thicker at the root and wont fit unless you remove the plastic spacers and use a bushing in the mounting hole. You can't use the metal Gaui blade grips to fix it either due to the spacing. Loose the plastic swashplate as soon as you can. Not sure which length Gaui main shaft will fit that heli, measure yours. Links in the head will fit. The Gaui main yoke and grips come as a set are almost impossible to get, and the FF IMHO yoke is better anyway, and I use the yoke on my Pixy Zap. Still using Gaui plastic blade holders since I have several and they don't break often. Tail: Shaft, double bearing slider, grips, hub, and blades is interchangeable with the old plastic tail parts that you can't get in the US. Frame: The fiberglass frame is better than the plastic one you'll get, it is more like the Gaui V1. This will effect the links on the servos, so I don't know. Main gear fits. Belt, boom, boom supports, and landing gear & struts will fit. Look here for close outs on FF and PixyZap parts, sorry I got all the good stuff NOTE: All the blades are for 100 size, NOT 200. www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id=B3815330Hope that helps Cory

Good information, Cory! I don't have a Mini Zoom, but I'm sure others will find this helpful. I have used BP Hobbies before and they're great. I used to buy Black Hawk 500 parts from them (they rebranded the helicopter) and were an excellent source of parts.

Learned a new one today, not sure if it will apply to kis200 ff frame or not. Tore the main gear out of the Pixy Zap and found that the new Gaui red main gear will not fit. The reenforcement webs they added hit the frame. Have to order some more white main gears from flying hobby.

Hey Cory, what is the difference between the white main gear and the red one? My Gaui 200 has a white one, and after many flights it is still like new.

Hey Cory, what is the difference between the white main gear and the red one? My Gaui 200 has a white one, and after many flights it is still like new. They aren't prone to stripping out, drove it into deep hay holding the trainer switch instead of throttle hold and stripped it. I'm running governor mode, kinda dooms the drive line in a crash. Anyway, there are 3 different gears. 2 whites and a red. The top gear is the first version. No bearings, just a screw through it and the main shaft. This one is stapled to that board and another to the wall for hanging a new belt to remove the twist created from packaging. The next is the auto main gear with the one-way bearing for autos. Good luck with autos btw Both white gears come out of the mold warped. Then the red gear. See the extra ribbing on the bottom. It helps hold the gear true. Also the belt pulley is locked to the shaft separately with a collar(not shown) so the tail is driven during an auto. IMO there wasn't enough energy to auto before driving the tail rotor. But this gear runs much truer. I would love to know if people can really auto a 100. When I first started flying again I was using a gws receiver that had a very quick glitch about 70 feet out. This managed to reset the esc to idle, but not show any other signs. Anyway, I had lots of auto practice back then before I sorted the problem. I broke lots of landing struts Cory
