For anybody that is looking for a reasonably priced power supply, check out the Voltz model at ReadyHeli. I got one over the winter and just tried it out about a week ago. Seems to do a good job for the price, although I have no idea how it holds up long term since I only used it one time so far to charge 14 batteries. Unfortunately the weather was nasty, so I couldn't fly and had to discharge the batteries anyhow. Grrrrr It is only 350watts so it will not power any 'mega-power' chargers, but it easily powered both of my 150watt Maxpro chargers with no problem, and it is only $69.99. It got slightly warm to the touch, but not even warm enough for the built in cooling fan to run. Hehe, I am moving up in the world, as I used to use an old model train transformer as my power supply. It started smoking last fall so I decided to retire it. www.readyheli.com/VT-PS--Voltz-15V-350W-Power-Supply_p_37878.html

I am playing with 'mega-power' chargers a lot and have been using industrial and mil-specPS only till lately. Which was costly indeed. However the situation is changing - MaxAmps have introdused two new PS models, a 12V/500W and a 24V/1000W priced at $80 and $160 respectively. In the US Helidirect sells them. For guys in Canada they are stocked by Rotorquest. No doubt these are going to be at every field and shack soon.

Hobby King has a 17V 600 Watt PS in the US warehouse for $70. Looks like a good deal too.
