I have been looking around for quite a while for some deals on a couple extra receivers and found some today. Found a guy that is getting out of the hobby and had 2 new, and 2 used 6100's and 6100e's for different prices. I offered him $100 for all 4 and he accepted it. I really only needed 2 of them, one for the soon to be built Gazaur Mars 480, and one for the new 450, whatever it turns out to be, lol, but I will have some spares too if needed. If not, I am sure that I could get $25 each for the 2 that I don't use, huh.

Hey Darrell, the AR 6100 rx might be ok in your 550 as long as you have it mounted out in the open where it can't get blocked.
I prefer to use the 6200 and 7000 with the satellite receivers on my larger helicopters so they don't get 'blocked out' by the large frame and canopy. I mount the rx in the frame, then put the satellite on the outside of the frame. The 6100's work great in all of my smaller helicopters.
I have never used the gyro or servo you mentioned, so I can't offer any comments on them. Sorry

I use AR6200 or better for anything bigger than a 450.

I put a 6200 with the satellite in my Blackhawk 450 cause it was all I had at the time. It is still in there, but I am going to switch it out with one of the 6100's I picked up so I can use the 6200 in my Gaui "500" build. Then, I might switch out the 6200 in the 425 with the 7000 in the 550. I want to put a scale fuse on the 425 and need the extra channel for the retracts. If I had the extra cash, I would rather just build another 425 though as I really like flying mine the way it is, then put a fuse on the new one. I better get a second job. Or, maybe I could just sell some more of the hundred or so old Aurora HO slot cars that I have. Now that's an idea, lol.

I like the idea of the retracts. I saw one helicopter at the Cheasaning Fun Fly in July that had retracts. Very, very cool looking. I'd hold on to the HO cars, bro. I think we've had that conversation before, though! AF/X? MagnaTrac? Scott

Scott Just a rough guess, without actually taking the time to go count them, but, probably about 80 to 100 original Thunderjet 500's, with about 10 of those being the "Tuff Ones" or " Wild Ones" series. And probably about 20 A/FX non-mag, and about 30 or 40 Magna-traction series. I also have about 50 of the "Johnny Lightning" T-Jets that are still in their 'cubes'. Those might be worth something someday as they were sold out to Auto World quite a few years back. I'll have to post some pics someday in the off topic board. I did get a surprisingly high dollar amount for the 28 old Hot Wheels "Red Lines" that I sold on eBay awhile back.

Man, I wish I would have kept all my old stuff like that. Scott No you don't, lol, it would just "clutter up" 2 rooms in your house like it does ours. Logan enjoys racing during the winter, but, I need to 'reduce' the hobby to one room. I made some pretty cool 'Willy's' Tjets for him last winter. I made some custom upper gear plates with added gears, and custom chassis, and made them true "4 Wheel Drive", then mounted them under original T-jet Willy's bodies. They hold the track better than the Magnatraction cars do. ;D If you want to get back into that old hobby of yesteryear, I will let you know when some of my stuff goes up for sale on eBay. I have about a hundred feet or so of track that we have no room for too.

You know, I would go overboard. I'd have a four lane track, battery powered, Parma controllers wired for dynamic braking (track wired, too), lap counters, I'd have the gears lightened, phosphorus bronze pickups/wipers, motors rewound, silver brushes, sponge tires, light bodies... the list goes on and on. I'd be 14, again! Scott Edit: The track would take up about 160 square feet in my basement and would be a Monza-like layout....planning... :0

The biggest problem with a 4 lane track is finding the 6" and or 12" radius track pieces. The 9" radius curves were the norm and you can find them on eBay for almost nothing. But, for a 4 lane layout, you need either the 6" or 12" radius curves to fit inside, or outside the 9's to make a 4 lane turn. The straight track can just be laid side by side of course. You can find the 6's and 12's, and occasionally, the 15" radius curves, but people usually want a premium price for them. Of course, I think I have quite a few of them myself, lol. I hear you on the mods too. I have rewound some motors, silver plated some pick-ups, mix and matched some gears, beveled the tops of the brushes, ect. I even had a bunch of different kinds of working street lights. They had 6 volt bulbs in them, so I just wired them to a spare controller and taped it at the point where it was putting out 6 volts and hooked it to a spare transformer. Hehe, should we add a "slot car" board to the forum?
