Post your power systems that work well for you.
My long-boomed Hurri 550. Stock 850kv motor with 15-42-20-61 gearing. Head speed= 1850 to 1950 ( calculated ) Works great for all around sport flying. Probably not suitable for 3D flying due to lack of head speed. Decent power on collective punch-outs with minimal bogging.
My short-boomed 425. Z20-1470kv motor with 15-50-20-61 gearing. Head speed= 2700 to 2800 ( calculated ) Awesome power. More power than my flying skills can test. Great for sport flying, and likely will work very well for harder 3D flying. No noticable bogging on full collective punch-outs.
Just finished building my HeadHunter framed Hurri. Z30-1100kv motor, with 15-50-20-61 gears. Calculated head speed should be around 2200 to 2300. Medium length boom running 500mm blades. Have not flown it yet as it is the monsoon season here, but will edit this post after a few flights to offer some comments.. EDIT: the above combination in the HH framed Hurri flys awesome. Great power and decent flight times.

My headhunter 550 Castle ICE 100 (or lite, haven't decided) ESC, Scorpion 4020 1100kv motor, 15-20,50,61 gearing around 2400-2500 headspeed. Still fast in climbouts, no bogging. Not as fast when it was 14-20-42-61, but I'm pretty sure I won't melt the front main. Second HeadHunter 550 is flybarless, and will be the same as the one above. Scott

Just an FYI.
For the short boomed 425, a motor somewhere between 1300kv and 1600kv seems to work the best. Gaui recommends a minimum head speed of 2600 rpm. I have found that it flys great for general sport flying when geared for around 2800, and flight times are still decent. For harder 3D flight a head speed of 3000 is better.
For a medium boomed build running 500mm blades, a motor of around 1000kv to 1300kv seems to work the best when geared for a head speed of around 2300 to 2500.
For the long boom running 550mm blades, a motor of about 800kv to 1100 kv works well when geared for head speeds of around 1800 to 2200 rpm.
Hope this helps to give an idea of the "average" motors and head speeds that seem to work well on the Hurri 425/550.
