Its been a bit since I have been on here, as I havent made too much progress due to financial issues. I would have all the parts needed for completion today but instead I had to buy tires for my car.
Anyhow....With regards to centering the servos, How would I do that? What plugs do you have the servos plugged into on the receiver?
What servo arms are you guys using?
My transmitter is having an issue holding a charge so I am thinking about converting it to LiPo in the near future. It holds a useful charge for about 5 hours if off. Seems kind of annoying but the transmitter I have (RDS-8000) seems to have notoriety for this problem.
Oh well. Progress is Slow Coming but It is Coming.

Hey Paul, glad to see you are making some progress. I am not familiar with the Airtronics radio, but will try to help as best I can. Not sure how the slots are marked on your receiver, but the servo on the back left would be the Elevator servo. On a Spektrum radio the 2 up front go to Aileron and Aux 1. Some radios have a slot marked "Pitch", and would then use Ail and Pit for the 2 front servos. It don't matter which one of these two is plugged to which slot as you can just use the servo reversing feature in the radio to make them move in the correct direction. To center your servos, first you need to have a linear pitch curve set up in the radio. In other words, "0" at low stick, "50" at mid stick, and "100" at high stick. With the servos hooked up and the Tx and Rx powered up, put the throttle at mid-stick and put the arms on the servos so they are as close as possible to being parallel to the pitch and roll arms and elevator arm. The top of the pitch and roll arms should be parallel with the frame and the elevator arm parallel with the main shaft. This will also be the position you use to set up the head so that the blades have 0 degrees pitch at mid-stick. Just make sure your motor is not plugged in while setting up so you don't have an accidental start-up. I use these CF plates on the servo arms to get the offset right. They work great. www.readyheli.com/CHP-G012-Custom-Heli-Parts--Spektrum-Carbon-Fiber-Servo-Double-Arms-40Offset41-40Hurricane-55041_p_32269.htmlHope this helps more than it confuses. We are here to help, so ask away and we will do our best to get you in the air. Jerry

Can someone tell me where to obtain rubber canopy nuts for the Hurri 425/550? I can't see them listed anywhere. I do find the body retainers but not the nuts for them. Seems odd. Or perhaps the original one never wear out (yah...right!) I just bought a new fibre glass Gaui canopy and there were no new nuts with them. Most canopies co come with them, but Gaui does not......Thanks, Rich

Rich, do you mean the rubber grommets that go in the canopy? I am not 100% sure, but I think the X5 grommets are the same, as they are not listed as "new" like the X5 only parts are usually listed. That makes me think they are the same as the 550 only with a newer part number. AlleRC has the X5 ones in stock. www.allerc.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_160_177&products_id=5605

Thanks everyone. I actually got them from Gaui. They are being included with the canopies.
