Sorry to hear that Scott. Actually, I was wrong on the motor. I thought you were running the 4025 which has a max current draw of 100 amps. The esc must have gotten jostled in the crash, and probably was fine for the 4020 motor.
If you could post a detailed pic of the servo mount with exact dimensions, I could probably make one for you if you can't get it from Ben. I am pretty sure that I still have some 6063 T5 and 6061 T6 bar stock up on the second floor of my garage somewhere. I did have a drum full of 2014 forging stock too, but I think I scrapped it a couple years ago when the price of aluminum went sky-high.
I do happen to know a thing or two about aluminum since I worked as an extrusion die corrector and press foreman at an aluminum extrusion plant for 12 years before becoming a diesel mechanic. ( Man, that was a long time ago, now me feels old)

That sucks Scott. Is the servo mount also the main bearing housing?
Jerry, do you have a machine shop in the garage?

Qatar... who'd have thought I'd buying parts from Borneo, then Qatar! Amazing! Seriously, at the rate I'm going, I'm liable to exhaust Ben's stocks, so there's a good possibility that I'll be taking you up on your offer, bro. Thank you, again! Scott

Ivan, no I don't have a machine shop, (wish I did), but have a woodworking shop in the basement. I spend my winters making cabinets and furniture for a hobby. Aluminum is very easy to work with and is easily cut and shaped using the same carbide cutting tools that I use on hardwoods.
Scott, not sure if I have the right size stock to make them until I see one, but should be able to get it with no problem. You can send me the broken one when you get time and I will see what I can do as far as making you a few spares.

After my crash two weeks ago, I've been working on the Frankengaui to get it back in the air. Unfortunately, it's all for naught to date. I'm fighting a Super bad vibration that only shows up in Idle 1 or 2. It sounds like hell. So far, I've rebuilt the tail assembly (CNC Heli v2). I've replaced the boom. Today, I'm going to pull the boom entirely and see if the noise is coming from the frame. As a stop gap, I've got a new belt and all bearings for this helicopter on order. I'm hoping it's not bearings because that is going to be a ROYAL PITA.

Well that sucks Scott. I hate vibrations and strange noises as they always seem to be so hard to find out what is causing it. I know that you are very meticulous when building and repairing your helis, so there probably isn't anything I can suggest that you probably haven't already checked. I'll bet when you find it, it will be something that you never thought would have been damaged in the crash, like OWB, or bent gear hub, or something like that. Too bad nobody makes a mini "chassis ear" that could be used on an rc heli . ( Hmmm, now there is an idea for me ) I have one for automotive use. It comes with 6 clip-on sensors and a head set. You can place the sensors at various locations on a vehicle, then, select each sensor one at a time and "listen" to it on the headset to locate rattles, squeaks, squeals, etc. Never had a noise on a vehicle yet that I haven't been able to locate, although sometimes it requires stopping and moving the sensors to other locations nearer to the "suspect". Good luck, hope you find the problem. Jerry

Jerry, I think I found it. I pulled the boom yesterday and discovered no noise. I think it's the mount for the horizontal stab. Go figure on that one. New one from CNC Heli (the original is plastic) is on order.

I'm hoping that's it. In the event it's not... all the bearings are on order. It is NOT going to be fun replacing bearings. Scott

Well, I don't have to replace bearings. The CNC Heli horizontal stab and boom support mount did the trick! Now, I have to re-setup the helicopter and I'm done. Happiness. I'm here to say, though. If you like tweaking things, do NOT keep the stock horizontal stab mount. It WILL wear out. Scott

I hope you never need any more parts for your HH frame Scott. I just read over on Freak that Ben and his wife are expecting their first baby, and he is getting completely out of the hobby. I'm glad to hear about his new addition to the family, but, disappointed to hear that he is leaving the hobby as I have been thinking about getting one of his frames.

Well, it had to happen sooner or later. So... I guess it's all good in the end. Congratulations to Ben, his wife, and his new lifetime committment... being a dad! Thanks for the heads up! Scott
