Just found this forum whilst searching for a Gaui 550 scale body. Our heli's do not seem to get much press in the UK, so I was very happy to find this site.
I am a member of Sutton Coldfield RC Model Aircraft Club and have been trying to master helicopter flying now for two years and I bought the Gaui 550 12 months ago to help with my BMFA 'A' certificate practice. Starting later in life has been a challenge and this hobby is now so technical compared to the free flight flying I did in my youth but at last I am starting to make some progress.
I love the big Gaui but I have recently acquired two Gaui 200's, one V1+ and one V2 for indoor practice during the winter and its nice to have some helicopters that are not from the Align stable. These Gaui helicopters are certainly very well engineered and fly very well and its a pity they are not so well known or supported over here.

Hello Barry, and welcome. If you find a scale fuselage made for the Gaui 550, please let us know. I would like to put a scale fuse on my 550, but can't find one specific to the Gaui 550. I was thinking about trying to adapt a Century .30 size fuselage to make it work. If you can fly the little Gaui 200's than you must be doing pretty well as they can be a handful. I started in this hobby at the age of 50, with no other prior RC experience, so I know first hand how hard it can be to learn to fly helicopters. Since some of the members don't post their location, we don't know where they are from, but there are others here from the UK, so I would guess that there is a fair amount of interest in Gaui's there also. I think we just have more RC forums on this side of the pond so it looks like more interest in certain brands here. I have checked our "visitors" list a few times and found hits here from Russia . As for Align, I think they are popular all over the world. Good luck to you on your journey into RC helicopters. Stop back often and let us know how you are progressing. Jerry

Hi Jerry, Thanks for your response. My three Gaui's are the only ones I have seen at any of our local clubs which must have at least 60 heil fliers regularly attending. There is a Gaui 550 for sale on the UK's BMFA members site for £375.00 with a full body kit which the seeler informs me is an aero special Sa355 twin-star but unfortunately the seller bought it complete, so does not know the source of the kit. If I manage to find out I will post on here.
