Im just curious, my 500 build is going pretty well personally. Im waiting for a Scorpion 3026/1400kv motor to show up today. I put my T-Rex 250 up for trade so I can get a used DX7. How's your heli/project going?

Mine's going okay. I've got in all the parts for HeadHunter frame sets. Jerry's is being staged, right now. Scott

My "500" build was started on a plastic frame, but put on hold a while back as I decided to wait until Scott had his HeadHunter Helicopter frame upgrade completed and available. As you can see by his post, my new HH frame might be on it's way soon, and then the build will start over again using the new frame upgrade. I also have a Gazaur Mars 480 to build, but, I didn't buy any of the electronics for it yet. So the new HeadHunter/Gaui will come first as I have everything I need to finish it, except maybe batteries since I don't know if any of my 425 or 550 lipos will work out for proper CG. My 10 year old grandson is rebuilding one of my old crashed King2's for himself and I will need to set it all up for him when he gets it finished. So, lots of heli building fun here over the winter. Can't wait till spring though so we can go out and fly. Edit; Shoot, I just remembered that I forgot to order some 500mm CF blades. All I have is some woodies that I got with some stuff I bought from a guy over on Freak. I am planning on running a head speed of around 2200 to 2400 and I don't think woodies will be a good idea even for a quick maiden flight.

I've been caught up with my Mini Titan recently but I've now got some money together to get some lipos for the 425. I'm considering joining a heli club in the new year. Problem is I have no car at the moment so I couldn't even get to the heli club. There's no where to fly around here and it's pretty frustrating. Grrrrrr.

Awe man, I hear you! I live in the boonies and I did join a club last summer, but it was all planes and honestly, while they were nice, it wasn't helpful. So... I fly on a softball field and a soccer field nearby... when they're not in use. The nearest helicopter club is over an hour away. Scott

I am kind of fortunate that I have a decent place to fly about a mile from my house. It is several practice baseball fields connected together. I also found a 6 acre plot behind an uncle's house that the owners gave me permission to fly at. The best place is yet to come. I recently received permission to fly at an old abandoned strip mine that belongs to a friend of mine. It is 560 acres of flat reclaimed strip mine. ;D ;D ;D There are some plans right now to build a horse race track and casino on 250 acres of this site, but, it still leaves over 250 acres of flying field.

Yes, some of the heli clubs aren't too great. The one near here requires you to have passed your 'A' certificate before they will even let you fly there. Something I really can't be bothered to do! Also the 'field' is more of a junk yard. Jerry, you lucky barsteward ;D

That the thing about the club that's a hour away (actually only 10 minutes from where I work, but with the weather like it is, there's NO chance of me putting a helicopter in the car for more than it takes to warm up the car)... they require test passing, too. It's probably a good thing in the long run, but their requirements for supervision, etc., are daunting. I mean, I get off work at noon...how many people fly during what for other people would be normal working hours?

Hello Slaw, welcome to the site. It seems like you have spent some time testing your set-up. How does it fly? I would be careful with the flight times as you seem to be over discharging your lipos. With 2800mah lipos, you should only be putting a max of 2240mah back in. Otherwise you may damage the batteries. Other than that, it seems like you have a nice set-up.

Thank you for your welcome ;D I tested many different setup-s and batteries along with my Mini-Titan, and now I use it in the Gaui. I use the accu-always with you on the monitor and the timer on the transmitter (Futaba 7C 2,4 GHz), except that after the flight, always check the quality of the package tester. Oooo yeahh... These packages in 2800 appear to be the best flights from Gaui, because they are smaller, light, fit into the 450 and 500 and the price is low (from HK of course). Willing to talk with different combinations of settings for our favorite birds. Recently I made some modifications to engineering plastic version. If you want I can show you. I apologize in advance for my poor English language. I hope you understand me well. Regards
