Phil; the tail doesn't creep, just at random times the heli will totally spin out. It's never at a certain throttle position, either. I'm confused about the tail-slider position thing. Are you saying that in Headlock mode, when you give full right or left input, then go back to center, the servo will stay at full right/left? Phil??? , lol... Yeah Max, it will do that if sitting on the bench. In HH mode when you give a rudder stick command, the slider will move all the way to one side and stay there even when the stick is returned to center. This is because the gyro did not sense the heli turning, so, it holds that position waiting for the heli to yaw. In rate mode it will come back to center position when you release the rudder stick. That is one of the reasons that you never want to do any tail set-up in HH mode. Always make sure you are in rate mode when setting the tail up.

lmao Jerry, sorry I keep thinking youre PhillyD XD. So at least that part of the gyro is working...if I spool it up in rate mode will it spin out like I described if the throttle-to-pitch ratio is wrong?

Max, many gyros require you to set them up in rate mode first. That is one thing nice about the JR gyros I am using. They do not need to be set up in rate mode.
To set up in rate mode, you will need to have the servo centered first, then in general for most helicopters you will need to have about 6 degrees or so pitch on the tail blades. Some helis are made to have this with the pitch slider at center, others will be off center.
Then you need to hover the heli and adjust the servo mount or rod to get the tail to hold in a hover. Make sure you have no binding anywhere in the tail control rod or in the tail itself as this will cause problems no matter what gyro/servo you are using.
Once you get it to hover in rate mode, it should hold much better in HH mode.
