Here it is... my Low Rider HH Hurricane with Gaui X5 FBL Head and associated hardware. Completed! I had to grind a little off the nylock nut and screw to get it to not rub on the link at extreme cyclic positions. Pitch is 12/-12. I'll flight test it tomorrow sometime. Note: You don't need to buy the M4 screws. They come with the spindle shaft set. Thanks for the idea, Vas!!! Scott

Nice job Scott. I hope it flys as good as it looks.

Well, this is a no go with the X5 head. First problem was a link rubbing on the jesus bolt which I fixed by grinding off some of the bolt and the nylock nut. The second problem is the show stopper. I had a nasty wobble at idle 2 and 1 on my first test flight. So, I replaced the red dampers with the black damper and really cranked down on the jesus bolt since that bolt holds the swash driver arms and clamps the head. That worked for Idle 1 but it only reduced the wobble in idle 2. So, I've just ordered the X4 head and we'll see how that goes.

Well, as of right now, the wobble is gone. I went back and reset the microbeast to factory default and performed all the setups, again. So... no wobble for now. Due to my work schedule I probably won't know anymore about it until Thursday or Friday. Scott

I hope you got it sorted Scott. Although building and tinkering is half the fun of the hobby, it can be very frustrating at times when things don't turn out the way you wanted them too.

I'm good with it, Jerry. I just need to find the time to test things before the funfly this Sunday and then IRCHA (if possible).

I flew the helicopter yesterday at the Funfly. It's great. But... halfway through the second pack of the day, I had what I think is an ESC failure that forced an emergency low-altitude, high speed auto into tall grass. NO DAMAGE!! I was able to flare, but not bleed off speed before the helicopter hit the tops of the grass. I was just pulling grass out of things. The failure was 5 beeps on the ESC which says that the radio signal was lost or corrupted. That said, I'm done with the receiver, sat, sat cable and ESC. I have the ESC, the receiver/sat is coming tomorrow so that's that. I got lucky yesterday.

Sorry to hear about that Scott, but glad you were able to save it. Are you using the same electronics that were in the crashed HeadHunter? If so, I think you might have a better idea now of what caused the first crash, since you said you basically 'lost control' of the helicopter before it went in.

You're right, Jerry. That was the same electronics. So... it's gone, now! We'll see how it works out at IRCHA. Scott

Are you a hot sauce fan Scott? I see Sriracha and cholula hot sauce in those pictures. Possibly a shaker of Adobo too?

You better believe it!! I have a whole shelf in the fridge at both home and work that is dedicated to hot sauces.

Great! Your favorite? Last time were in Mexico, I had my mouth burned out big time by some Habenero stuff. Hotter than that Chinese paste stuff... I mean, there is a limit. Remember... if we're not too wiped out, one night, dinner is on me... You, Kashia, Alex and his wife should you desire. I have a good shoulder this year! Scott

I love Sriracha on all my Chinese food. I do Tabasco on Spaghetti Carbonara, Valentina on my blackened chicken alfredo after a healthy shake of crushed red pepper, Tapatio on eggs, local restaurant hot sauce on home made Mexican, Sriracha mayo on burgers, habanero mango salsa on pork chops, etc etc etc... There are several fans of hot sauce at work too. We have some REALLY hot stuff there. We have made habanero poppers at lunch!!! They were pretty hot but still tasted good. We have the whole gambit of Dave's hot sauces including some limited hand labeled and numbered bottles. Lately we have been doing a lot of sauces with Bhut Jolokia commonly called the Ghost Pepper. It is the hottest pepper on earth but I REALLY like the taste of it. There are some hot sauces that are just hot and taste like crap... all of the Ghost Pepper sauces have had great flavor. We even got some actual Bhut Jolokia peppers and tasted them raw. HOT like you can't imagine but still had great flavor. I can keep you updated on our arrival time on Thursday and maybe we can finally have a meal together. Friday night I want to hit up the SWARM party and Sat is going to be the night fly of course..

Scott, I must say that, that is the nicest looking fleet of helicopters I have ever seen. (Wipes drool off of chin). I wouldn't want to fly them for fear of crashing them. One question, why are the blade grip bolts on the F6 sticking up at the top? Looks like they aren't tight.
On the hot stuff, lol. I grow several different kinds of hot peppers in the garden for my own use. Some for canning, and some for stringing up to dry, for grinding up later. I was never really big on trying different kinds of 'hot sauce' myself, although I do put plain old "Red Hot" on almost everything I eat.

I don't put hot sauce on everything, but I do like it on things where it enhances flavor. Like you wrote, there are hot sauces out there that are only hot and that doesn't appeal to me at all. I do like fresh peppers on things. There's a Mexican restaurant (La Herradura) about a half mile from my house where we go once/week. There, I get chicken enchiladas with mole' sauce. I line up jalapeno's on each enchilada after coating them with a little sour cream. Simply awesome. If I could get wasabi on them, I would. Scott

Jerry, Well spotted, as our friends from across the pond would say. I take the blades off when I adjust gear mesh, so I just never tightened them up all the way. Good thing, too. My load out test yesterday tells me blades have to come off both Furion 6 and HeadHunter to get them into the car safely for the trip to Muncie. So, that's gonna happen. I really wish you could come, bro. It's something you NEED to experience. Scott

Scott, I really hope I can make it to IRCHA someday. Since I live in Western Pennsylvania I am not really all that far away. Might be a different story though, if, and or when, I move to Kentucky. Still not sure about that situation yet. Most likely, if I move to Kentucky I will end up giving up the hobby as there is absolutely no place to fly within an hours drive or more, of where I would be living. Nothing but mountains in Eastern Kentucky. It is a really nice place, just no where to fly.

One day, Jerry. One day. Not even an mCP X in KY? (That almost sounds dirty.)
