Jon, Bill, Nexgen, and Mystic, welcome aboard, and thanks for joining.. Hey Scott, I am kinda like you in that I have 6 helis now and still don't know how to fly very well. i no how it is, i had 14 helis in all, a year and a half ago, and no i am down to, i think 8, i think, well anyway, jerry invted me over from a great forum that i have a blast at. or some how the gaui gods told him that i ordered a EP425 hmmm witch i gould not pass up for $59.00. i love to build things, i think i like building them more then flying them, NOT. well i dont own anythink stock, never have, so when i get the kit, it will stetched to a 550 with longer blades, tork tube, this build will take time, as money is short these days. ok then let the gaui gods begin. thanks.

Welcome to the forum dubehigh! Glad you could make it! I myself have a heavily modified Gaui 550.. it's so modified, the only thing that's Gaui are the head assembly, boom, and gears.
Enjoy the forum!

Hey Dube, welcome to the site. Actually it wasn't any heli gods, lol, I check in quite often over at rchelitalk, I just don't post that often since most questions are answered before I read them.
I just saw your thread over there about the Hurricane 425 and thought we might be able to offer you some help with your build.
Thanks for joining us.

Hey Dube, I know what that "lack of funds" is like as I have a family to take care of before helis, but, I still love the hobby.
If anybody else over there decides to build a "Hurri" send em on over. Our site is just as friendly as Dave's, although it is more oriented toward Gaui helicopters.

I know about lack of funds, too! I've got a Velocity 50 that is just sitting waiting for electronics. I'm still digging out from Christmas and with a vacation coming up soon, it looks like the V50 is going to wait a couple months longer than it would have otherwise. It's all good.
For my first helicopter I almost bought a Century 16.

Hi all, Dube linked this forum to me. I just got the 425 kit at the Phoenix Electric Flight Expo from the allerc booth. Actually my son bought it for me for my birthday. I have many helis, big and small but all electric. The 425 is my next build and looks to be a fun heli. Anyway, just thought i'd say hi. I'll probably lurk a bit, read about some of your set ups. Looks like the perfect place to be to build this heli....
later all, Robby

Yep, It's next up. Just doing some research. I put up a question in the 425 forum. But I'm also interested in seeing some 425 setups.... i.e. servos, speed controllers, BEC's, that kind of stuff. I've got a Solid G Gyro, and a DS620 for the tail. I just need the rest. Blade suggestions appreciated too.
Anyway, don't want to derail the welcome thread.
Later, Robby

I'm back from vacation! It was a blast! Best food ever, best times ever, but it's even better to be home again. This is the longest I haven't flown since starting helicopters, so I think tomorrow I'll spend time on the sim, but today is unwind time. We didn't feel the earthquake in Mexico and Puerto Vallarta was completely safe, so that was good. The weather was nothing short of spectacular. We kept up on the weather in the states and it looked like there was some really good weather here, too. Looks like it has timed out for today, though... Thunderstorms, chilly, and windy. Oh, well. It's all good in the long run. It's good to be back! Scott

Welcome back Scott, glad you had a great time and a safe trip. And yeah, the weather here was awesome last week. But, too windy to fly though with gusts to about 40mph most of the week.
