I hope so. I just wonder how long they'll stay?

The X5 is now in stock at AlleRC if anybody is interested in getting one. If I had the cash I would be clicking the buy now button. ;D But, I don't, and I hate using plastic money for the heli hobby so I guess it will have to wait a while.

I am still working on Align 550e funds. LOL. I have a feeling the 550E is going to be very popular. Soon there will probably be a flood of Trex 500's for sale, just like the flood of 450's that were for sale shortly after the 500 came out.

I want one, but I'll wait a bit. Besides, I can't afford it right now. Homeowners insurance is due. Scott

Did you guys see T's (Noobflyer01) build out and videos over on RCU's T-rex electric forum? He had some problems, but thinks the 550E is awesome!

Scott I pretty much gave up on RCU as I get the following message about 99% of the time I try to go there. Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e31' Timeout expired /forum/tm.asp, line 114

Well, being that I am not that good of a pilot, and figured I would end up destroying a TT tail drive, I found something that might make the X5 more interesting to someone like me. There are all the parts listed on this page for a belt drive X5. eng.gaui.com.tw/d981119/html/shopping_list.asp?area=85&cat=298I wonder if they will come out with a belt drive kit, instead of having to buy all the parts separate? I haven't seen one for sale anywhere yet. I have seen most all helicopters have "upgrade" parts. I wonder if Gaui will call theses "downgrade parts", lmao.....

There are all the parts listed on this page for a belt drive X5. Jerry, I think you sell yourself far short in terms of being a good pilot. Anyone who has been flying their H550 for two years without a crash is far, far ahead of me in piloting skills (and probably most of the others on this forum). Personally, I'm with you on the preference for the belt drive tail though. Other than a possible small increase in flight times, I don't see how the TT would be any advantage to me. Bill

Thanks for the positive comments Bill, but, I don't really consider myself a very good pilot after 2 years in the hobby. I can fly fast 8's circles, loops, and some ugly flips, but that is about it.
BTW, I did have one minor crash with my 425 this summer, and 2 with the Gaui 200, so, I am not crash free this year, lol.

I think X5 with stock 910kv motor and stock 16t pinion is lacking the head speed, which is around 2500rpm when using Castle esc governor (I have had my share of HW esc's (stock) in the past and do not use them anymore). A 4020-1100kv motor with 12t pinion will give at least 100 rpm more. Stock blades are not bad, but definitely not a top notch. I am thinking of Edge 523mm blades. Otherwise I am quite happy with X5, it is predictable and fast. MKS BLS950/980 servos fit there perfectly.
