When I decided to get a Gaui I made a list of mods that I wanted on my setup. One of the mods was to get the T-Rex 600 skids, are the skids a direct fit. The skids I have dont just drop in, it looks like the screw holes are a few millimeters off from the Gauis where it mounts. Can I still use these skids or should I chuck em.

Just oval the holes slightly on the skids and they work fine. One thing that saved my frame on more than one occasion (plastic frame) was to use small cables ties (4" size) to mount the skids. That way in a hard landing (we never crash...do we??) the ties will break rather than the frames. Use two ties per mounting hole. One goes through the hole and around the front of the skid and the other goes through the hole and around the back. Bill Attachments:

One thing about the cable ties...they work! I used them, too. I don't anymore because of vibrations caused by really high head speed. If I ever go slower, I'll be back to cable ties in a heart beat! Scott

Bill Bill thank you very much for your help I would have never guessed in a million years to use tie wraps (which I have a million of lol). It worked like a charm I didnt have to enlarge the skid hols that much. Hey you wouldnt happen to know what size grub screws to use so the skids dont move around. Im going to try the ones in the Gaui skids in a sec to see if they work. Now my next task is to find out how to remove the Align logo without damaging the skids finish. I'll post a pic or two when I get a moment of the skid upgrade. edit: The set screws from the stock Gaui skids do fit in the Align skids.

Lol that looks great, ok Jerry fess up, they kind of look like decals from the Hurri kit. Did the skid pipes have the Align logo on them? This is my Align 600 landing skid upgrade, thanks Bill. More pics at my blog.
